Waste of time

Posted by lroose on 7/15/2009

My wife and I caught a cab at terminal E yesterday. After traveling for a month we were eager to get home. First one in the row was Ambassador cab number L262. When we started out the driver asked where we going. I told him Bedford. He said it would be a minimum charge of $24. I questioned this because I had never paid that much before. He said it was the minimum charge and it wasn't worth his time. I almost asked him to return the terminal and let us out, when I saw the minmum charge posted on window. It said $20.60 or the meter whichever is greater since the driver was obviously perturbed about picking up a short fare I decided to make his day. Since the fare should have been $20.60 and he charged $24 I considered the $3.60 overcharge his tip (16.5%) and thanked him for wasting his time. If ambassador is the company that comes up next time I'll pass.

in actuality the fare that was told to you. You are correct that the minimium charge for 1 person out of the airport is 20.60. Plus there was a $1.00 fuel surcharge fee and a $2.00 extra passanger fee' since it was you and your wife. This is why the driver told you $24.00 miniumum. And now Bedford is actually over that. Roughly to 183 and central dr. is about 26.00 plus the fuel and extra passanger fee. Feel lucky you only paid $24

Cab driver totaled my car

Posted by SK2009 on 5/10/2009

One of their cab drivers ran a four way stop sign, didn't slow down, nor slam on his breaks, at full speed ahead totaled my car. Luckily, my daughter was not in my car with me when it happened and I am still alive.

These guys SUCK - AVOID THEM!

Had the same experience as the other review. The operator barely spoke english and I had a terrible time understanding him. Called 3 hours in advance and asked them to pick me up at my house @ 6:20pm for my 7:45pm flight out of DFW. The airport is 9 miles from me, so this is plenty of time, as I'm being dropped off and don't have to worry about parking my car and whatnot. 6:25pm rolls around so I call them back. He says to wait 15 minutes and he'll call me back. I explain that I have a flight to catch and don't have 15 minutes to wait. He said that there was nothing he could do, so I had to drive my own car and am now spending $17/day x 12 days because I didn't have time to park offsite or in an economy lot. So screw these guys. They barely spoke english, didn't keep their appointment and are now costing me over $150 in parking. Call a different cab company.

They are horrible

I called to request a cab and the person that answered the phone could barely speak english....i advised i was in a hurry and needed a cab asap...he said it would be 15 minutes....15 minutes passed still no cab.....i called back and he said the cab driver would be calling me back...5 minutes go by and the cab driver calls me and same problem could barely speak english.....could not even follow simple directions......so i wasted 30 minutes and had to call another cab company
